If you have a child, we recommend bringing him or her in for a consultation visit with Dr. Perez around age seven. This lets get a look at how your little one’s smile is developing, and gives Dr. Perez a chance to treat problems related to thumb sucking, mouth breathing and genetic issues like crowding, underbite, or overbite. If left untreated, these can escalate, causing teeth to become uneven or widely spaced. Your child may still need braces or a retainer after his or her adult teeth have come in, but treating potential issues at a young age can have a positive impact on how your child’s smile develops.
