Mark Waggoner, DDS, FADSA
Dr. Mark Waggoner received his Bachelor of Science from Southwestern University in Georgetown, then went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1983. Following his graduation, Dr. Waggoner continued to hone his skills with hospital residency in the Department of General Dentistry in Jacksonville in 1984. His rotations included anesthesiology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and oral surgery, and were successfully completed in 1984. That same year, he earned a certification in IV sedation becoming a Diplomat of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and returned to Texas to practice.
In addition to his education at top ranking dental schools, Dr. Waggoner spent 10 years performing original dental research, publishing his findings in the peer-reviewed journal Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry. He holds three U.S. Patents for dental products, two of which have received FDA approval, and served as a member of the National Standards Institute that sets national standards for dental equipment. Dr. Waggoner is also a sought after speaker both locally and nationwide.
In his more than 27 years of practice, Dr. Waggoner has performed more than 14,000 IV sedations. His accomplishments are a complement to Vineyard Dental's continuing commitment to excellence. Dr. Waggoner stays current in his profession through memberships in the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Association, and is a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Waggoner is a 2nd generation dentist, and assisted in his father's oral surgery practice beginning in 1970. Married to wife, Linda, for over 27 years, with whom he has three wonderful children. One daughter is a local celebrity and Meteorologist for Channel 8 Lubbock, his second daughter is a student at the Indiana University Kelley Honors School of Business, and he and his son enjoy Eagle Scouting together. Dr. Waggoner is an admired member of his community, and attends St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
